J Balvin Teams Up With Casio to Make His Ultimate G-SHOCK

Reggaeton star J Balvin has a new drop, but this time it’s not a beat. The first Latin urban artist to bank a billion views on YouTube has partnered with G-SHOCK on a new watch called the MA G-SHOCK (DWE5600JB1A9.)

“Ma’ G,” Balvin’s phrase for his closest friends and family, was created to remind people that time matters. “G-SHOCK’s tough and bold style has always resonated with my journey,” says Balvin. “With this launch, I wanted to create something that reflects my music and culture, while also giving fans a unique way to express themselves. This watch does just that, with bold, interchangeable parts that let everyone make it their own. I’m excited to bring this new product to life and continue my journey with a brand I’ve always loved.”

To that end, Balvin’s MA G-SHOCK comes with two sets of resin straps and bezels, translucent matte yellow and classic black, so fans can customize the watch to their personal style. The piece also features mode indicators handwritten in Spanish by Balvin adding another artistic stamp and making the MA G-SHOCK the first to use Spanish text. The singer’s signature lightning bolt shines when the LED light is illuminated and the case back is engraved with Balvin’s logo, a smiley face with lightning bolt eyes that channel his positive energy.

The piece is constructed using G-SHOCK’s carbon core guard structure so it can withstand serious impacts. It’s resistant water resistant up to 200 meters and features a stopwatch, countdown timer, multi-function alarm, 12/24 hour time formats, a full automatic calendar, as well as a Super Illuminator LED light.

The ‘Ma G’ design is available for pre-order at G-SHOCK.COM and J BALVIN SHOP for $230. The watch will officially be available for purchase online and the G-SHOCK Soho store on January 27, 2025.
