Super Bowl Ticket Prices Dropping Drastically, Reports Say

Super Bowl LIX is less than a week away, and NFL fans across the country are getting ready to watch the big game in New Orleans. But if visiting The Big Easy and witnessing a Super Bowl game in person are on your bucket list, now might be your time to act.

With just days before the Super Bowl, the cheapest tickets to the game has fallen to approximately $4,000 on the resale market, per CNN and reseller TickPick. That marks a 30-percent drop over the past week and puts the price at more than 50 percent cheaper than last year’s tickets.

This could be due to a variety of factors, the game venue likely being one of them, as the Caesars Superdome is able to accommodate more people than Las Vegas‘ Allegiant Stadium, where last year’s game was played. Some football fans could also be wary of traveling to New Orleans in the wake of a New Year’s Day truck attack that killed 14 and injured at least 35.

It’s certainly a historic moment that could see the Kansas City Chiefs become the first team in the Super Bowl era to win three Super Bowls back to back. But yet another Chiefs appearance in the big game could also be a boring turnoff for some football fans.

“[We’re] seeing less interest from fans looking to attend,” TickPick CEO Brett Goldberg Goldberg told CNN. “Had the Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders, or Buffalo Bills made it this far, it’d be a much different story as it relates to current prices.”
