Chevrolet’s beloved Corvette is getting a racing-inspired update in the form of the upcoming Grand Sport edition of the vehicle. Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, the car is billed as a “pure expression of the car’s motorsports-bred pedigree” and you can see why. Highlighted by an updated exterior that boasts a Z06-like grille and wider rear fender, the car sports a bevy of performance upgrades like a retuned and stabilized suspension, electronic limited-slip rear differential, Brembo braking system and magnetic ride control — not to mention 19- and 20-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. Under the hood, a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 — capable of 460 horsepower — is paired with a either a seven-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission. Drivers can even give the car an added boost with a Z07 performance package — including a carbon fiber body kit, carbon-ceramic brakes and Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires — and a Collector Edition that features a Watkins Glen Gray Metallic exterior with Tension Blue accents, satin black body stripes, matching wheels and black and blue upholstery to boot.
While pricing has yet to be revealed, the 2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport goes on sale in the United States this summer with European sales slated to kick off this fall.
